Summer Work & Fun
by Nancy ~ July 14th, 2006. Filed under: Friends, Woodworking. This summer we have been very busy - with both work and play. It has been the wettest summer I can remember in a long time. There have not been many days for boating but we have managed to enjoy ourselves and get some projects done.
Chuck has been diligent in building the home theater. He has framed, wired, painted, ceilinged the space beautifully. He’s built some beautiful custom cabinets and has plans for a wet bar. I did help with the flooring and recently we tiled the wet bar and bathrooom. Last week we laid the engineered hardwood floor!
Summer Fun
After finishing the floor we treated ourselves to an ice cream at the drawbridge ice cream shop. It was one of our rare sunny days and Mystic was hopping.

Newport Tennis Campbell Classic
I had a fun outing with friends to the Newport Classic Tennis match. It’s such a beautiful place with the grass courts at the Tennis Hall of Fame. The beautiful architecture and hydrangeas are lovely. And it was a great day with friends.
We watched Philippoussis win his match.. in between rain delays. We also saw Gimelstob play and win. These two players went on to the finals and Philippoussis won. We enjoyed lunch at the Casino and shopping in Newport during the showers.

Hi Auntie! The downstairs home theater looks great - the last I saw it, it was still at the beginning stages… The floor in particular looks great! Glad you balanced out all the work with ice cream and a nice sunny day in Mystic - ice cream is always a great treat!
