In Loving Memory

by Nancy ~ September 18th, 2006. Filed under: Family.

Loss is always a part of life. This week has been a much larger than normal amount of loss. My very dear, wonderful Aunt Ruth passed away after a fierce battle with pancreatic cancer. I am going to miss her warmth and wit very much. She was 82 and will be joining her beloved husband, my Uncle Bob. Sadly her youngest brother, Bill, died at only 71 just a few days ago. Whenever I look at a photo of my Uncle Bill I am reminded of my older brother. Those handsome genes are passed down through the generations. And tragically my cousin Tom lost his wife, Natalie, to cancer this week as well. So it has been a week of great loss for my mother’s whole family. But it also has been a lifetime of love, warmth and memories to celebrate. It is a blessing to have known and loved these wonderful people. We will miss them very much but they live on in all of us.

My Aunt Ruth always had a smile on her face and a hug for you.

Thank you for these wonderful words. Services for My mother, Ruth Thornbladh, and my father, Robert Thornbladh, will be at the Great Lakes National Veterans Cemetery on Friday, September 29, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. They were both veterans and will each receive their own interment site. Mom on the right and Dad on the left, the way they always slept in their bed.

Following will be a memorial luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
