It’s such a busy time of year that I haven’t had time to keep up with the blog. I’ll probably need to predate some posts but I wanted to share some websites I’ve found useful recently. The most timely one is Brad’s Deals(http://www.bradsdeals.comwhich has lots of internet shopping deals - special discount coupons, etc.. I was able to save $60 on a $199 on line Christmas purchase using this website with a 20% off coupon and $20 off for using Google Pay.

Google Pay is a new online payment method - similar to Paypal. To generate more users it is offering $20 off on your purchases of $50 or over right now. I signed up and got the discount on 2 items yesterday! Look for it while doing your online holiday shopping.

Another good value is offered by Microsoft - it is a free website and hosting. Just go to Office Live (www.officelive.com) It is intended for small businesses and you can construct a nice website using their templates. As an experiment I created a site for the mystic library board You must enter a credit card to create the site. They do not charge the credit card unless you upgrade the website to use your own web development tools instead of their online templates. This is a great way to reserve a domain name for free.

I first read about Office Live in a David Pogue article. David Pogue writes about technology for the NY Times. If you haven’t read his articles or watched his videos you’ve missed some very informative and amusing experiences. I’d recommend visiting his website http://davidpogue.com/ to check out what he has to say. His articles are easy to understand for the layperson and they often are very funny. I’d especially recommend watching his videos on line - they are lots of fun.

Finally if you’d like to start a blog the two blog sites I’ve had good experiences with are www.blogger.com and http://wordpress.com/
