Return Trip to Lanai
by Nancy ~ February 2nd, 2007. Filed under: Hawaii.
Once we arrived on Lanai it is only a short walk to the beach from the Ferry. We went snorkeling and I was able to catch a few shots of fish. There were wonderful shows of fish but many were too deep for me to catch with my little underwater digital camera. It is only good to 10 feet and quite honestly I cannot stay still when I dive down to try to photo. So I content myself with aiming the camera down and hoping to catch a good shot.
After we finished lunch we took the bus to the other Four Seasons Resort on the Island Koele Lodge. It is inland and is breathtakingly beautiful. We wandered the grounds there admiring the koi in the pond, the beautiful pagoda and the incredibly beautiful golf course. Our friends Sue & John and Evie & Phil

After a wonderful morning of snorkeling we use the outdoor showers at the beach .. they are reminiscent of the movie Mash .. you can look out at the ocean while taking a “cold” shower. Of course cold here is the normal temperature outside of 80 degrees so it’s not much of a hardship. After getting dressed we take a short walk up to the Four Seasons Resort where we have lunch. This is just a spectcular hotel .. no doubt about it. Lunch is worth every penny for the delightful ambience and view. This is a photo I snapped going up the stairs to the lobby.

Once we finished exploring Koele we went into town where we visited the overwhelming Dis’ n’ Dat SHop .. the wind chimes drove Chuck right out to the swing on the porch!
These are all windchimes .. and with the Hawaiian breezes they are all in full song!
Chuck is escaping da Din at Dis n’ Dat The buildings in Lanai City are original and very charming - very old Hawaiian feel.
At the end of the day we enjoyed a fabulous Hawaiian susnet on Lanai .. borded the Ferry and returned home after another wonderful day in Paradise!
