Pete Hauls in Mahi Mahi on Maui
by Nancy ~ February 5th, 2008. Filed under: Family, Hawaii, Places.Our avid angler, Peter, chose to board the boat at 3 AM to go sport fishing on Maui. He went on a 9 hour fishing trip aboard Start Me Up - a 41′ Bertram.
And what a day they had! There were 6 people on the boat, though 3 of them spent most of the time seasick. That left Pete and a father and son to haul in the 26 mahi, mahi they caught! Just coicidentally the father and son were from Fort Collins, CO. It’s a small world.
Pete caught 7 of these delicious fish. The crew cleaned some for us to take home and prepare for dinner. If you purchase it fresh at the fish market it’s about $20 per pound so it was quite a treat to have. They were the talk of the dock on coming back with such a large haul! A great vacation day for Pete.
